What You'll Do10

  • 1Build comprehensive OT evaluations for students and translate results into measurable functional goals
  • 2Design and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals; provide direct therapy and small-group sessions when appropriate
  • 3Modify activities and classroom setups to improve fine motor skills, self-care, sensory processing, and classroom participation
  • 4Collaborate with educators, families, and the multidisciplinary team; participate in IEP meetings and progress reporting
  • 5Document therapy sessions accurately and timely; monitor progress and adjust goals as needed
  • 6Ensure safety, confidentiality, and compliance with school policies and state regulations; support transition planning with other professionals
  • 7Coordinate with school staff to ensure smooth scheduling and integration of therapy services
  • 8Track outcomes and report progress to families and school leadership
  • 9Assist with equipment recommendations and classroom adaptations as needed
  • 10Maintain professional development and stay updated on pediatric school-based practices

Requirements6

  • 1Active occupational therapy license in Washington state or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • 2Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or Doctorate as applicable
  • 3Experience or demonstrated interest in pediatric populations and school-based practice
  • 4Ability to work on-site in a school setting during the listed shift and collaborate with educators and support staff
  • 5Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
  • 6Ability to pass required background checks and clearances for school-based employment
