As a Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) at Pediatric Developmental Services, you will own the therapeutic journey for a caseload of children in a school-based setting. What You'll Do8
- 1Deliver high-quality, individualized OT services based on therapy plans and developmental needs, using sensory integration and fine motor techniques.
- 2Conduct comprehensive evaluations and create measurable therapy goals for each child, then document progress in alignment with IEP requirements.
- 3Collaborate with families, educators, and care teams to support functional, motor, sensory, and self-care goals, adjusting strategies as needed.
- 4Design engaging, play-based therapy sessions that keep children motivated and drive progress toward milestones.
- 5Track and report outcomes using district-approved documentation systems, ensuring compliance and consistency.
- 6Partner with IEP teams to integrate OT goals into classroom routines and accommodations.
- 7Provide training and coaching to teachers and aides on implementing OT strategies in the classroom.
- 8Manage a full-time caseload with a predictable weekday schedule that aligns with school hours.
Requirements4
- 1Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTR/L).
- 2Active state license or eligibility for licensure in Washington, DC (PDS assists with the process).
- 3Pediatric experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome.
- 4Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
