Overview

Ironwood Cancer and Research Centers seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to own patient care in our Women's Breast Centers across Phoenix, Goodyear, and Scottsdale. You will collaborate with 14 breast surgeons and 2 gynecologic oncologists, seeing patients in clinic and supporting hospital activities including OR assistance. This role offers direct impact in a multi-site comprehensive cancer center. You will drive survivorship care and treatment plans for a diverse patient population. What You'll Do8

  • 1Collaborate with physicians and health professionals to coordinate patient care across breast surgery and oncology.
  • 2Counsel patients on health behaviors, self-care, and treatment options, tailoring education to individual needs.
  • 3Treat chronic diseases, hematologic conditions, and chemotherapy side effects in collaboration with the supervising physician.
  • 4Obtain medical histories and conduct comprehensive physical examinations for new and follow-up patients.
  • 5Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies such as lab tests, x-rays, and EKGs under physician supervision.
  • 6Prescribe medications, physical therapy, and rehabilitation treatments per state regulations.
  • 7Provide survivorship directives to guide long-term care and monitoring for cancer survivors.
  • 8Support hospital rounds and call schedule, including potential OR assistance with surgeons.

Requirements8

  • 13+ years practicing as NP or PA with current Arizona licensure.
  • 25+ years RN experience, preferably in women's healthcare.
  • 3Experience in women's healthcare or a related field.
  • 4Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
  • 5Strong team collaboration skills and ability to see patients efficiently.
  • 6Inquisitive and adaptable, with excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • 7Quick learner able to absorb and apply new medical knowledge.
  • 8Proficiency with office equipment and EHR systems.
