Overview
Own the complete care pathway for breast cancer patients at TOPS Surgical Specialty Hospital, coordinating from diagnosis through treatment in a state-of-the-art Houston facility. What You'll Do10
- 1Develop and manage the care pathway for breast service patients in coordination with referring and treating physicians.
- 2Manage pathology records as directed by Breast Center protocols.
- 3Collaborate on a measurement system to ensure services meet EDGE Quality Initiatives standards.
- 4Provide education and emotional support to patients and families throughout the care continuum.
- 5Identify and develop resources to address the educational and psychological needs of breast center patients.
- 6Work with the breast center team including radiologists, oncologists, and pathologists to ensure seamless care.
- 7Articulate the breast center services philosophy positively to healthcare providers and the public.
- 8Build a professional and public presence to elevate the visibility of TOPS Comprehensive Breast Center.
- 9Serve as a constant contact for patients, coordinating appointments for consultations and physician visits.
- 10Maintain two-way communication with physician offices to improve care coordination.
Requirements4
- 1Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred, RN license from Texas Board of Nursing required.
- 23-5 years of acute clinical nursing experience in plastics, oncology, or general breast health.
- 3Current CPR certification.
- 4CBPN-C, CBCN, or OCN certification required.
