Overview

You will own daily operations and clinical practice for maternal-newborn units at Beverly Hospital, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, serving a high-volume perinatal program with a Level IIB Special Care Nursery. Reporting to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, you will lead a team of nurses and coordinate care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, Parent Education, and Lactation. You will drive quality improvement, staff development, and fiscal accountability in a collaborative, family-centered environment. What You'll Do8

  • 1Oversee clinical practice and unit operations for maternal-newborn units, ensuring compliance with the MA Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards.
  • 2Lead, coach, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering professional development and engagement.
  • 3Coordinate patient care delivery across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, and Special Care Nursery, ensuring seamless couplet care.
  • 4Drive quality improvement initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance for the Level IIB Special Care Nursery.
  • 5Manage human resources and fiscal budgets, optimizing staffing and resource allocation.
  • 6Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including parent education and lactation consultants, to enhance patient outcomes.
  • 7Monitor patient safety metrics and implement evidence-based practices aligned with the Professional Practice Model.
  • 8Support ongoing professional development for staff and participate in leadership growth opportunities.

Requirements7

  • 15+ years of inpatient nursing experience in Maternal Newborn Services.
  • 22+ years of nursing leadership experience.
  • 3Current Massachusetts RN license.
  • 4BLS certification.
  • 5Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • 6Strong clinical knowledge, organizational ability, and interpersonal skills.
  • 7Basic computer proficiency.
