What You'll Do8

  • 1Deliver comprehensive nursing care to NICU patients using the nursing process, ensuring optimal outcomes within the first 90 days.
  • 2Coordinate patient assessments, care plans, and interventions with the care team during night shifts.
  • 3Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring vital signs and adjusting care as needed.
  • 4Educate families on neonatal care and discharge instructions, fostering trust and confidence.
  • 5Document patient progress accurately in the EPIC system, maintaining compliance with hospital standards.
  • 6Respond to emergencies with BLS, NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E. protocols, stabilizing infants as needed.
  • 7Collaborate with neonatologists and specialists to refine care strategies for complex cases.
  • 8Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance NICU patient safety and satisfaction.

Requirements9

  • 1Valid California Registered Nurse License
  • 2BLS certification from American Heart Association
  • 3NRP certificate from AAP or AHA
  • 4S.T.A.B.L.E. certificate within 6 months of hire
  • 5Active Los Angeles County Fire Card within 30 days of employment
  • 6ARC training within 30 days of employment
  • 71+ year acute care experience preferred
  • 82+ years in Nursery/NICU setting preferred
  • 9Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program
