What You'll Do10
- 1Lead development of molecular assays and NGS workflows for high-throughput clinical laboratories
- 2Design and execute R&D studies with scientific rigor and attention to detail
- 3Lead assay validation and clinical implementation from study design through launch
- 4Interpret data and troubleshoot issues to drive process improvements
- 5Collaborate across cross-functional teams and provide scientific leadership in a matrixed environment
- 6Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- 7Train and mentor junior scientific staff and support new laboratory workflows
- 8Support automation and technology initiatives to improve lab workflows
- 9Manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- 10Travel up to 10% as needed
Requirements11
- 1Ph.D. with 0 or more years of experience or Master’s degree with 5+ years in molecular biology assay development
- 2Experience in assay development and/or validation required
- 3Clinical laboratory experience required with CAP/CLIA/NYSDOH preferred
- 4Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- 5Highly organized and detail-oriented commitment to quality
- 6Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes
- 7Excellent oral and written communication skills
- 8Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
- 9Familiarity with DNA/RNA extraction purification methods
- 10Experience with NGS library preparation hybrid capture and sequencing workflows
- 11Knowledge of PCR-based techniques including qPCR RT-PCR and ddPCR
