Montessori Assistant Teacher, Preschool (Bezos Academy)
Overview
Own Montessori assistant responsibilities in a full-time preschool setting for a multi-state network. You will support lead teachers to deliver developmentally appropriate activities for children from infancy through early elementary milestones. You will join a mission-driven team providing Montessori-inspired education at no cost to families. This role emphasizes hands-on learning, classroom organization, and collaboration with families and school leaders.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and support instructional activities that promote active Montessori learning experiences
- 2Assist in delivering individual and small-group lessons and adapt activities to each child’s developmental stage
- 3Observe children daily to assess skills and needs and tailor learning experiences
- 4Prepare and maintain a well-organized, safe classroom environment conducive to growth
- 5Support children’s independence with daily living skills and routines
- 6Assist teachers with progress records and development tracking
- 7Develop positive relationships with children and families to foster self-esteem and participation
- 8Participate in team meetings, center activities, and staff development
- 9Help implement school performance standards, policies, and procedures
- 10Supervise children in various settings as needed
Requirements6
- 1Four years of professional experience as an aide, assistant, or lead teacher of children from infancy through third grade
- 2Two years of professional experience as an aide, assistant, or lead teacher of children from infancy through third grade AND an associate`s degree in a relevant field
- 3Bachelor`s degree or higher
- 4Primary Montessori teaching credential from a MACTE-accredited institution or on track to obtain one within two years of hire
- 5Ability to pass background checks and required screenings
- 6Access to reliable transportation and consistent attendance
