Assistant Teacher, Montessori Preschool & Family Support
Overview
Own the frontend support for early childhood classrooms in a Montessori-inspired program. You will float between classrooms, assist with meals, supervision, and daily operations to ensure a nurturing, tuition-free learning environment for children in under-resourced communities. Be part of a growing network of preschools and contribute to high-quality, developmentally appropriate care. This role offers varied duties across sites and opportunities to impact classroom culture and student outcomes.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build flexible classroom support across locations to cover aides as needed
- 2Design and maintain safe, engaging routines during arrival, transitions, and nap times
- 3Lead by example in supervising children during meals and outdoor activities
- 4Ship daily operations tasks such as material preparation, cleaning, and setup to support teachers
- 5Drive Montessori basics training completion within the first seven days of hire
- 6Own records management for children and families and ensure confidentiality
- 7Scale support for after-school activities and extended hours as needed
- 8Debug classroom logistics and safety checks to maintain compliant environments
- 9Deliver consistent communication with families and staff to foster an inclusive environment
- 10Collaborate with leadership to support school operations and on-site family events
Requirements10
- 1Age 18 with high school diploma or GED
- 2Six or more months of prior work experience in childcare, education, or a related setting
- 3Ability to pass background checks, TB screenings, and required trainings to supervise children
- 4Ability to independently supervise and care for young children safely, including lifting up to 40 lbs
- 5Access to reliable transportation and ability to attend shifts consistently
- 6Valid Food Handler`s Permit or willingness to obtain one upon hire
- 7Complete 20 hours of onboarding within seven days of employment
- 8Montessori or early childhood experience preferred
- 9Strong communication and organizational skills with daily operational task management
- 10Commitment to supporting a nurturing, non-competitive learning environment
