Molding Technician Job in San Francisco | Pacific Rubber
Overview
You will own the molding press floor at Pacific Rubber, producing high-precision seals for semiconductor, medical, and automotive clients. You will set up, operate, and maintain injection molding machines, handling everything from raw material prep to final inspection. Working with Rubber compounds and tooling, you will ensure every part meets exacting dimensional and cleanliness standards. What You'll Do10
- 1Set up molding machines per production specs, using PLC controls and hydraulic systems to calibrate cycle times.
- 2Monitor production runs, adjusting parameters like temperature and pressure to maintain consistent quality.
- 3Prepare and handle raw rubber materials, including mixing and weighing, to prevent contamination.
- 4Inspect molds and tooling for wear or damage, coordinating maintenance with Maintenance team.
- 5Perform quality checks at each stage, using calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and finish.
- 6Partner with Quality to resolve nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
- 7Run routine equipment maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication, and troubleshoot process deviations.
- 8Document production data in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, tracking output and scrap rates.
- 9Lead continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting process tweaks that reduce cycle time without sacrificing quality.
- 10Train new technicians on machine setup and safety protocols, ensuring a skilled and safe workforce.
Requirements10
- 12+ years of experience in molding or manufacturing environments, with hands-on machine setup and troubleshooting.
- 2Ability to operate injection molding machines and perform basic maintenance on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- 3Skilled in inspecting parts with calipers, micrometers, and other tools to verify conformance.
- 4Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistent, repeatable quality.
- 5Familiarity with PPE and manufacturing safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- 6Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks with manual dexterity.
- 7High school diploma or GED required; vocational training in molding or manufacturing is a plus.
- 8Basic proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Google Workspace for data entry.
- 9Willingness to learn new production technologies and adapt to changing process requirements.
- 10Team-oriented with a proactive approach to safety, punctuality, and production goals.
