Overview
You will own field repairs on class 7 & 8 trucks for Pape' Kenworth in San Leandro, CA, working swing shift. Using Kenworth systems and Cummins diagnostics, you will diagnose and fix engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical issues. You'll work with minimal supervision, ensuring trucks return to service fast. This role offers 3+ years of hands-on experience and training opportunities.
What You'll Do7
- 1Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures on class 7/8 trucks using Cummins and MX software
- 2Repair or rebuild engines, transmissions, axles, and differentials at customer sites
- 3Fix brake, clutch, steering, and air system issues to restore truck performance
- 4Service and maintain trucks to prevent breakdowns and extend vehicle life
- 5Communicate directly with customers on repair status and needed parts
- 6Document all work and parts used in service reports
- 7Manage your own tool inventory and ensure proper maintenance
Requirements10
- 13+ years repairing medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks
- 2Experience with engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC, and chassis repair
- 3Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred
- 4Basic computer skills for diagnostics and documentation
- 5Cummins and MX software experience preferred
- 6Self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision
- 7Strong communication and customer service skills
- 8Must provide own tools
- 9Valid driver's license with good record
- 10Class A CDL preferred
