Overview
As a Metals and Adhesives Coater, you will spray coat medical implant devices for sintering heat treatment, applying spatulation methods and visual inspection to meet engineering and customer specifications. You will join a close-knit team at a thriving manufacturing company in Portland, Oregon, working onsite with temperature-controlled facilities. This role offers clear advancement from Level I to Level II Spray Coater, with opportunities to learn across a high variety of products. What You'll Do9
- 1Review Job Travelers to verify part identity, quantities, and coating requirements, including binder and bead mesh size.
- 2Prepare binder solutions following applicable Standard Process Instructions (SPIs) for each batch.
- 3Visually inspect coated parts to ensure they meet customer requirements and document acceptance.
- 4Read and follow SPIs and MPIs for porous coating of medical implants, flagging discrepancies to the Team Leader.
- 5Perform maintenance checks on equipment before operations, notifying the Team Leader of any issues.
- 6Confirm measuring equipment is calibrated and within date before use, maintaining product traceability.
- 7Reference engineering drawings and specifications to align coating with design intent.
- 8Use calipers, balances, and comparators for overlay inspection as part of quality control.
- 9Notify the supervisor immediately if part identification is questionable to prevent mix-ups.
Requirements9
- 1Previous work history in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- 2Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- 3Strong communication skills for team coordination and reporting.
- 4Ability to use or learn to use measuring devices such as calipers and balances.
- 5Prior experience as a Level I Spray Coater before advancing to Level II.
- 6Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings related to porous coating.
- 7Willingness to use or be trained on comparators for overlay inspection.
- 8Reliable attendance and punctuality to meet production schedules.
- 9Self-starter with a quick learning aptitude for manufacturing processes.
