What You'll Do11
- 1Provide professional mental health services to inpatient and outpatient patients including those referred by emergency departments and external physicians
- 2Obtain comprehensive medical histories and conduct thorough physical exams for all patients
- 3Perform diagnostic assessments and formulate treatment plans aligned with professional standards and payer requirements
- 4Prescribe medications and coordinate care while maintaining detailed medical records
- 5Refer patients to specialists when necessary and document all referrals
- 6Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- 7Serve as Medical Director of Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic and Sedlacek Treatment Center
- 8Supervise ARNPs and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- 9Participate in quality improvement initiatives and business development efforts
- 10Develop service lines with outpatient behavioral services and post acute clinic operations
- 11Conduct monthly clinical supervision for advanced practice providers
Requirements11
- 15+ years of clinical mental health experience preferred
- 2M.D., D.O. or foreign equivalent required
- 3Licensure in Iowa with mandatory reporter training completion
- 4Valid Iowa dependent adult abuse and child abuse mandatory reporter certification
- 5Knowledge of pharmacological agents and evidence-based practices
- 6Thorough understanding of medical record documentation standards
- 7Minimum 5 years of clinical mental health medical experience
- 8Professional communication skills with proper telephone etiquette
- 9Ability to work collaboratively in diverse healthcare environments
- 10Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement
- 11Demonstrated leadership capabilities in clinical settings
