Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician
Overview
Mercy Medical Center seeks a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician to deliver patient centered care across inpatient and outpatient settings. This role supports physicians who do not treat inpatients and provides care to indigent patients presenting to the Emergency Department while also consulting on inpatient admissions. The ideal candidate will lead complex cases and contribute to hospital initiatives.
What You'll Do12
- 1Provide professional medical services to Mercy patients inpatient and outpatient settings
- 2Obtain and record comprehensive medical histories including chief complaint and physical exam
- 3Perform and order clinically appropriate procedures and document findings
- 4Analyze test results to formulate diagnoses and create treatment plans
- 5Prescribe medications following evidence based guidelines
- 6Refer patients to specialists when warranted
- 7Maintain accurate medical records compliant with regulations
- 8Report births deaths and disease outbreaks to authorities
- 9Exercise final medical judgment in patient care decisions
- 10Review long term cases and consult with Medical Director
- 11Oversee mid level medical and nursing staff
- 12Assist in resolving patient complaints and inquiries
Requirements10
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons leading surgical teams
- 3Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training
- 45+ years of clinical experience
- 5Licensed to practice medicine in Iowa
- 6Certified in cardiothoracic surgery
- 7BCBS credential
- 8AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- 9CPC Card certification
- 10AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
