Own the operational heartbeat of an Ulta Beauty store as the Merchandise Manager, guiding a team of Task Associates through shipment, replenishment, omni-channel, price changes, and markdowns. Achieve top-line sales growth and control expenses while delivering a flawless guest experience. Report to the Operations Manager and collaborate with the General Manager to align daily execution with store goals. Champion operational excellence with a focus on performance, people, and process. What You'll Do10
- 1Drive a culture of accountability to exceed sales, guest loyalty, payroll, and shrink goals through daily operational focus.
- 2Coach and develop a diverse team of Task Associates through individualized feedback, training, and succession planning.
- 3Execute shipment, replenishment, omni-channel, price changes, and markdowns on time and within payroll budget.
- 4Protect company assets by enforcing inventory control, cash management, and loss prevention standards.
- 5Use the company scheduling tool to adjust schedules and manage attendance during manager-on-duty shifts.
- 6Prioritize store workload with the task management tool, including resets, pricing updates, and cleaning.
- 7Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and guest service.
- 8Analyze financial and operational reports to drive store improvements and adjust strategies in real time.
- 9Ensure compliance with all Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards, including dress code and safety.
- 10Communicate business trends and opportunities to field leadership to influence company initiatives.
Requirements9
- 11-2+ years of retail management or relevant fast-paced work experience.
- 2Proven success driving top-line sales, interpreting reporting data, and managing payroll budgets.
- 3Experience monitoring inventory levels and achieving operational excellence in a retail environment.
- 4Ability to attract, develop, and motivate top talent while leading through change.
- 5Proficient with basic technology, including Point of Sale systems, Microsoft Office, and Apple devices.
- 6Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- 7Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and adapt in ambiguous situations.
- 8Flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with shifts starting at 5:00 a.m.
- 9Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform continuous bending, reaching, and twisting during shifts.
