Merchandise Manager, Retail Operations
Overview
You'll own merchandising standards and inventory integrity across a Five Below store in Columbus, Ohio, directly leading the Freight team and all associates while on duty. You'll execute the Merchandise Movement Process and drive sales, expense control, and SOP compliance. You'll train, coach, and develop associates to hit key measurables like AP audits, shrink results, and CSAT scores. This role stands out for its blend of hands-on floor work and leadership, with pay starting at $15.00 per hour.
What You'll Do10
- 1Execute the Merchandise Movement Process, ensuring flawless merchandising and signing across Now, Style, Room, Tech, and Party zones.
- 2Lead the freight team during truck unloads, checking in shipments, staging merchandise, and packing out product to Five Below standards.
- 3Own store opening and closing procedures, performing Store Manager duties in their absence.
- 4Train, coach, and develop all associates on merchandising, customer service, and operational controls.
- 5Drive store sales and control expenses, using financial reporting to identify business opportunities and manage payroll budgets.
- 6Maintain assigned zones, setting Market Plans, Signage, and Merchandise Sets as directed.
- 7Complete the Packaway Process within specified timeframes, ensuring inventory integrity and shrink control.
- 8Hold associates accountable to SOPs, asset protection, safety, and cash handling procedures, including bank deposits and register authorizations.
- 9Deliver exceptional customer service through personal contact, resolving issues and building brand loyalty.
- 10Partner with supervisors or corporate on store issues, reviewing corporate communications and implementing directives.
Requirements8
- 12+ years store management experience, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 2Proven ability to train, coach, and develop associates, driving team performance.
- 3Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to exchange accurate information with customers and staff.
- 4Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced retail environment.
- 5Creative thinking to solve problems and maintain composure under pressure.
- 6Physical stamina: frequently lift 25 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for 80% of shift.
- 7Experience with SOP compliance and inventory integrity processes.
- 8Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
