Specialized brain injury-informed counseling services provider for adolescents and adults. What You'll Do11
- 1Conduct initial consultations biopsychosocial assessments and service planning activities
- 2Collaborate with clients to identify strengths needs and meaningful goals
- 3Provide individual and group therapeutic supports using brain injury-informed person-centered approaches
- 4Support clients in developing coping strategies communication skills self-awareness emotional adjustment and community participation abilities
- 5Identify crisis situations require referral coordinate appropriate services with internal staff family members and external providers
- 6Coordinate with case managers direct service staff and external providers
- 7Maintain accurate confidential documentation develop and monitor SMART goals track client progress
- 8Ensure compliance with ethical legal and professional requirements
- 9Work collaboratively with mental health providers build relationships advocate for brain injury and mental health
- 10Provide outreach education and partnership opportunities with community mental health providers
- 11Maintain professional licensure participate in continuing education supervise interns
Requirements9
- 1Master’s degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology or related mental health field
- 2Licensure as LPC LCSW or equivalent clinical license preferred
- 3Minimum one year direct mental health counseling experience
- 4Experience with brain injury cognitive disabilities neurological conditions or related populations
- 5Knowledge of brain injury impacts therapeutic counseling approaches community-based service models crisis intervention and referral processes
- 6Skills in clinical assessment therapeutic communication interdisciplinary collaboration care coordination adapting interventions to cognitive needs
- 7Ability to maintain accurate documentation public speaking outreach and psychoeducation
- 8Sound clinical judgment in complex situations ability to exercise judgment build therapeutic relationships manage competing priorities maintain professional boundaries adapt flexibly to changing needs
- 9Telework environment secure internet access flexible in-person virtual service delivery travel within service area required
