Mental Health Specialist I - Adolescent Unit-Nights
Overview
Night Shift Hours 11:00pm- 7:30am FTE`s Available 0.6 and 0.8 24-32 hours/week every other Saturday & Sunday required Rate Starts at $20.16/hour with potential for higher pay based on relevant exp plus $2.30 shift differential for Nights and $1.80 on Weekends Expected to float to other Behavioral Health nursing units as needed at the direction of leadership This role differs by offering flexible weekend coverage and competitive shift differentials.
What You'll Do7
- 1Participate with the interdisciplinary team in specialized patient care
- 2Cares for patient assignment as delegated
- 3Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families using effective communication and education
- 4Provides trauma-informed care utilizing positive reinforcement
- 5Operates within a therapeutic relationship while maintaining staff and patient safety through de-escalation limit setting and physical interventions
- 6Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans
- 7Acts as a resource to unit staff regarding diagnoses behavior plans relationship based care protective equipment crisis management
Requirements5
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2Current enrollment in and completion of half a Psychology Social Work or related undergraduate program or equivalent experience required
- 3Basic Life Support BLS certification from the American Heart Association required prior to finishing unit-based orientation due within 90 days of hire must maintain certification
- 4Therapeutic Crisis Intervention TCI certification provided by the organization required prior to finishing unit-based orientation due within 90 days of hire and maintain certification
- 5First Aid certification by the organization required prior to finishing unit-based orientation due within 90 days of hire and maintain certification
