Member of Technical Staff III – Platform as a Service
Overview
Design and operate platform software and infrastructure enabling applications on Kubernetes-based edge platforms. Engineer across software development cloud-native infrastructure Kubernetes networking security automation and distributed systems. Collaborate with engineers across platform infrastructure DevOps Security and application teams to deliver reliable scalable capabilities from cloud to edge environments.
What You'll Do11
- 1Build reliable scalable maintainable backend services controllers APIs automation and platform components using Go
- 2Develop and operate Kubernetes-based platform capabilities including workload deployment lifecycle management configuration networking security policies storage and observability
- 3Create solutions for edge and disconnected air-gapped environments with constrained connectivity compute resources storage and bandwidth
- 4Implement GitOps workflows using Argo CD Helm and GitLab for application deployment and lifecycle management
- 5Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD containerized builds automated testing security scanning and release automation
- 6Integrate platform services with AWS services and cloud infrastructure
- 7Design RESTful APIs and event-driven services for distributed components
- 8Troubleshoot complex issues across application Kubernetes Linux container runtime networking storage and infrastructure layers
- 9Implement platform observability using metrics logs traces dashboards and alerting
- 10Contribute to platform security via Kubernetes controls admission policies secrets management and secure development practices
- 11Participate in architecture design reviews technical demos and implementation planning
Requirements18
- 1Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science Computer Engineering Information Systems Engineering or related field
- 25-10 years professional software engineering experience preferably in backend infrastructure cloud-native or distributed systems
- 3Strong Go programming skills and deep understanding of data structures concurrency APIs error handling testing debugging and design
- 4Hands-on experience with Linux containers Docker OCI and Kubernetes
- 5Experience developing deploying troubleshooting Kubernetes applications
- 6Familiarity with Git source control and CI/CD platforms
- 7Expertise designing RESTful APIs and backend services
- 8Knowledge of AWS or other major cloud platforms including integration with cloud services
- 9Proficiency in automated CI/CD pipelines testing frameworks debugging production software
- 10Understanding of distributed systems concepts service communication failure handling retries resiliency and observability
- 11Ability to work in Agile environments using Scrum or SAFe
- 12Strong communication collaboration and independent ownership of technical problems
- 13Experience with Kubernetes controllers operators CRDs admission controllers policy engines Argo CD Helm and Kubernetes package management
- 14Networking CNI NetworkPolicy or service networking knowledge
- 15Observability platforms Prometheus OpenTelemetry CloudWatch Datadog or similar tools
