Overview

You will perform routine lab tests and manage automated procedures in a high-volume clinical diagnostic laboratory. You will work under Medical Technologists and the Laboratory Supervisor to ensure accurate and timely patient results. Your role supports a national healthcare provider serving one in three adults annually. This 3-month contract offers night shift work and direct impact on patient outcomes.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, and maintaining patient test result records.
  • 2Maintain records ensuring proficiency testing samples are tested identically to patient specimens.
  • 3Analyze specimens using approved CLIA and HIPAA compliant testing procedures.
  • 4Review and release test results, documenting all quality control activities, instrument calibrations, and maintenance.
  • 5Identify and correct testing problems or notify senior technologist or supervisor immediately.
  • 6Report critical results per departmental procedure and answer customer or lab personnel questions.
  • 7Keep complete records of all on-site testing and maintain the general appearance of the department.
  • 8Verify reagent/test kits have received, expiration, and opened dates.
  • 9Participate in monthly department meetings, safety training, and new procedure reviews.
  • 10Perform moderate-complexity testing after specific on-site training as directed.

Requirements6

  • 11-3 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
  • 2BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology preferred, or Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
  • 3Ability to prioritize and handle multiple procedures simultaneously.
  • 4Strong customer service skills for direct client contact.
  • 5Must protect patient confidentiality at all times.
  • 6Willingness to work night shift and overtime as needed.
