Overview
Own patient intake and front desk operations at a busy urgent care clinic in Kansas City. Manage EMR data entry, insurance verification, and patient flow for a facility serving up to 100 patients daily. Coordinate with back office staff and handle all non-clinical patient interactions. This role is the face of NextCare, ensuring a clean, welcoming environment and smooth check-in to discharge.
What You'll Do10
- 1Collect personal and insurance data from patients and enter into EMR system.
- 2Monitor patient flow, including escorting patients to exam rooms as needed.
- 3Complete all insurance forms for registration to secure proper reimbursement.
- 4Prepare daily deposits, reconcile payments, and compile daily statistics.
- 5Restock front office supplies and verify equipment functions properly.
- 6Answer phones with quality customer service and manage appointments via the NextCare website.
- 7Keep waiting area and restrooms clean to reflect a positive clinic image.
- 8Alert back office staff immediately about urgent patient medical concerns.
- 9Educate patients on NextCare services for current or future visits.
- 10Notify Clinic Manager of any safety concerns involving patients or employees.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2Medical Administrative Assistant Certificate or equivalent strongly preferred.
- 31+ year experience in a medical front office or receptionist role.
- 4Proficiency with EMR systems and insurance verification processes.
- 5Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
- 6Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced clinic setting.
- 7Basic math skills for handling payments and daily reconciliation.
- 8Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
