Overview
The position owns psychiatric care and medical leadership through consultation with clinical staff and contributes to administrative decisions. It involves developing in person and telehealth psychiatric care for diverse clients while collaborating with BHS Leadership.
What You'll Do11
- 1Perform psychiatric evaluations and medication reviews with proper documentation
- 2Prescribe and monitor medications as needed
- 3Order and review laboratory test findings
- 4Provide clinical oversight and consultation to other disciplines
- 5Coordinate psychiatric service delivery across the agency
- 6Assist in developing service delivery procedures and protocols
- 7Evaluate quality and appropriateness of psychiatric services
- 8Define psychiatric responsibilities with respect to client care
- 9Conduct regular meetings to improve care quality
- 10Participate in compliance audits and regulatory standards
- 11Lead recruitment and supervision of psychiatric staff including NPs and residents
Requirements6
- 15+ years experience with child and adult populations
- 2Board certification in child psychiatry and ability to prescribe medication
- 3Substance Abuse Certification preferred
- 4M.D. or D.O. license to practice medicine in Michigan
- 5Knowledge of the Detroit/Wayne County Community Mental Health System
- 6Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
