Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy, Detroit Clinic
Overview
You'll own patient intake and bloodwork at an outpatient clinic in Detroit. You'll support a Medical Assistant team in a doctor's office setting. This role suits college, MCAT, or MBBS students taking a gap year who want hands-on clinical experience.
What You'll Do6
- 1Greet patients and perform intake procedures, including recording vital signs and medical histories.
- 2Draw blood samples using proper phlebotomy techniques and prepare them for lab testing.
- 3Document patient data accurately in electronic health records using office computer systems.
- 4Coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times and support clinical staff during examinations.
- 5Communicate test results and follow-up instructions to patients and providers as directed.
- 6Sanitize equipment and exam rooms between patients to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Requirements6
- 1Prior phlebotomy experience required to perform blood draws independently.
- 21+ years in a medical office or clinical setting preferred.
- 3Demonstrate computer proficiency with EHR systems or scheduling software.
- 4Possess strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- 5Show reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- 6Be available for onsite work in Detroit, Michigan.
