Medical Assistant Job in Detroit, MI | Urgent Care
Overview
You will own patient care workflows at a high-volume urgent care clinic, performing vitals, EKGs, venipuncture, and lab tests. What You'll Do8
- 1Register patients and verify insurance using EMR systems within the first 30 days.
- 2Collect patient vitals, perform EKGs, and document results accurately.
- 3Perform venipuncture and injections, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- 4Collect urine specimens and prepare lab send-outs following clinic protocols.
- 5Run in-office tests including FLU, strep, and pregnancy tests.
- 6Assist physicians with suturing and minor procedures during patient visits.
- 7Sterilize instruments and maintain exam rooms to meet clinic standards.
- 8Apply knowledge of clinical procedures and anatomy to support patient care.
Requirements8
- 11+ year of medical assistant experience in a clinical setting.
- 2Proficiency with EMR systems and patient registration processes.
- 3Hands-on experience with vitals, EKG, venipuncture, and injections.
- 4Ability to collect and process urine specimens for lab testing.
- 5Knowledge of in-office tests including FLU, strep, and pregnancy.
- 6Assisting with suturing and minor procedures is required.
- 7Understanding of medical anatomy and physiology.
- 8Strong communication skills and empathy for patient care.
