The Medical Assistant/Patient Service Specialist will lead daily clinical and administrative tasks under the Practice Manager. This role ensures seamless physician practice operations by supporting providers and patients. Responsibilities span patient care logistics to administrative coordination. What You'll Do16

  • 1Room patients and prepare them for provider visits while taking vital signs accurately
  • 2Enter EMR data for patient histories prescriptions and test results
  • 3Obtain consents and complete required forms for various visit types
  • 4Perform office tests and EKGs as ordered by providers
  • 5Administer vaccines and medications according to BMC protocols
  • 6Manage room supplies and monitor expiration dates
  • 7Answer and triage incoming calls to route communications effectively
  • 8Register patients in EMR and verify demographic and insurance information
  • 9Conduct eligibility checks and schedule appointments per provider directives
  • 10Perform pre-visit planning for all scheduled appointments
  • 11Outreach to patient groups for care coordination and specialty scheduling
  • 12Inform manager of supply needs and assist with ordering
  • 13Obtain prior authorizations and insurance referrals as needed
  • 14Conduct phlebotomy and process lab specimens following safety guidelines
  • 15Perform point-of-care testing and maintain accurate documentation
  • 16Clean disinfect and sterilize instruments while documenting sterilization logs

Requirements7

  • 1High school diploma or equivalent education
  • 21-3 years medical assistant experience
  • 3Phlebotomy certification
  • 4Certified Medical Assistant Certification preferred
  • 5Strong customer service and communication abilities
  • 6Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • 7Bachelor's degree from approved medical assistant program preferred
