Medical Assistant II - Intermountain Health

You will perform routine clerical and clinical tasks within the clinic, assisting Physicians and licensed providers to deliver quality patient care. Under the direction of the clinician, you will gather patient information, communicate clearly via phone and in-person, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. What You'll Do9
- 1Assist providers by gathering patient information relevant to the visit and condition.
- 2Communicate clearly with patients through telephone and in-person interactions.
- 3Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
- 4Maintain attention to detail and follow-through to support care delivery.
- 5Document patient care using EMR systems and perform data entry.
- 6Protect patient privacy and Protected Health Information (PHI).
- 7Prepare and maintain examination rooms and equipment.
- 8Assist with patient transfers, ambulation, and transport.
- 9Manage supplies and equipment, including heavy items, as needed.
Requirements10
- 1Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or 1 year of Medical Assistant experience, or a current RN/LPN license.
- 2Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers, obtained prior to start.
- 3Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
- 4Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- 5Ability to work collaboratively with patients and caregivers.
- 6Ability to protect privacy and confidentiality, including PHI.
- 7For Utah: If certified with less than 1 year of MA experience, must attend a yearlong MA residency program.
- 8Preferred: Experience in an outpatient clinic or healthcare setting.
- 9Preferred: Computer literacy in EMR systems and relevant software.
- 10Preferred: Current national MA certification (RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or CMA) from a recognized organization.
