Overview

As a Medical Assistant at North Carolina Dermatology Associates, you will support a team of dermatology providers in a high-volume clinic in Raleigh. You will own the patient experience from intake through procedures, manage the triage line, and perform scribing duties using EHR systems. This role offers the opportunity to grow within a specialty practice, working Monday through Friday with a focus on excellent patient care.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Assist medical providers with patient examinations and procedures, including minor in-office surgeries using EHR for documentation.
  • 2Record patient chief complaints, allergies, medical history, medication lists, and history of present illness into the EHR.
  • 3Perform medical scribing duties in real time during patient visits, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • 4Answer and return phone calls, properly documenting all interactions in the patient's EHR.
  • 5Manage the triage line, providing basic triage and advice based on provider instructions.
  • 6Educate and instruct patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care as directed by providers.
  • 7Call local pharmacies for prescription orders and document them in the EHR.
  • 8Obtain prior authorizations for prescriptions and procedures.
  • 9Clean and stock exam rooms, and sterilize instruments and equipment.
  • 10Support additional clinical and administrative tasks as assigned to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements8

  • 1CMA or RMA certification preferred.
  • 22+ years of experience in a medical office setting.
  • 3Dermatology or plastic surgery experience preferred.
  • 4Experience with EHR systems.
  • 5Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • 6Spanish speaking a plus.
  • 7Strong typing and multitasking abilities.
  • 8Excellent customer service and communication skills.
