Overview

The Medical Assistant will support providers and clinical staff in a busy primary care outpatient clinic serving patients across the lifespan. This role combines clinical and administrative duties to ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered care. You will work with a collaborative team in New Hope, MN, contributing to smooth patient flow and high-quality care.

What You'll Do13

  • 1Build patient flow and prepare patients for visits by obtaining vital signs and documenting clinical information
  • 2Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments to achieve efficient, quality care
  • 3Administer immunizations injections and medications as directed within scope of practice
  • 4Collect and process laboratory specimens perform point-of-care testing and phlebotomy when qualified
  • 5Provide telephone support facilitate communication between patients and providers
  • 6Assist with prescription refill requests and follow-up communication
  • 7Support prior authorization processes and care coordination
  • 8Assist front-desk/check-in activities as needed to maintain clinic operations
  • 9Maintain accurate timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • 10Stock and maintain clinical supplies and equipment
  • 11Communicate patient concerns changes in condition to the clinical team
  • 12Follow infection-control procedures patient-safety standards and organizational policies
  • 13Provide compassionate respectful care to patients of diverse backgrounds and ages

Requirements7

  • 1High school diploma or GED
  • 2Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program such as ABHES or CAAHEP OR qualifying RMA program with on-the-job experience and certification
  • 3Previous Primary Care experience
  • 4Current BLS certification
  • 5Strong communication organization and patient-service skills
  • 6Ability to work effectively with providers nurses and healthcare team members
  • 7Ability to manage multiple clinical and administrative tasks in a busy outpatient environment
