What You'll Do11
- 1Design precision mechanical components for HDD systems including Head Stack Assembly and base casting
- 2Develop shock dampening and vibration isolation structures for ultra-clean environments
- 3Create advanced CAD models using SolidWorks with tight tolerances and GD&T documentation
- 4Perform finite element analysis and modal simulations to optimize structural integrity
- 5Conduct material selection and metrology using CMM programming and optical measurement systems
- 6Validate designs through rapid prototyping and environmental testing for shock vibration and thermal cycles
- 7Drive failure mode analysis and implement corrective actions via FMEA and root cause analysis
- 8Collaborate with recording heads and firmware teams for system integration
- 9Interface with suppliers on specifications and quality assurance protocols
- 10Lead manufacturing processes for die casting precision machining and MIM production
- 11Maintain contamination control strategies and adhere to Class 10/100 cleanroom standards
Requirements11
- 1BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with precision design expertise in HDD industry
- 2Proven experience with head-disk interface and aerodynamics in high-volume applications
- 3Familiarity with actuator dynamics and servo positioning systems
- 4Knowledge of contamination control and particle management practices
- 5Understanding of magnetic recording fundamentals and GD&T for tight-tolerance assemblies
- 6Expertise in advanced CAD software and FEA tools for structural optimization
- 7Strong analytical skills for tolerance stack-up analysis and simulation validation
- 8Experience with high-volume consumer electronics or medical device manufacturing
