Overview
Heron Power seeks an Industrial Enclosures Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver high-volume shipping-container-sized enclosures for power converters. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create mass-manufacturable parts and assemblies while owning designs from concept through production.
What You'll Do5
- 1Design mass-manufacturable parts and assemblies for large industrial enclosures
- 2Design with a first principles approach optimizing parts through analysis
- 3Create 3D designs and 2D drawings using CATIA V6/3DX
- 4Perform hands-on work such as prototyping and testing
- 5Collaborate with mechanical electrical manufacturing and reliability teams
Requirements12
- 1Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering mechatronics or similar
- 25+ years of full-time industry experience designing outdoor-rated industrial enclosures
- 35+ years of full-time industry experience with 3D CAD
- 4Strong engineering fundamentals including basic electronics understanding
- 5Experience with high volume manufacturing processes like sheet metal bending and stamping
- 6Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- 7Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- 8Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- 9Nice-to-have experience with paints and coatings
- 10Experience with composites
- 11Experience with PCBAs connectors fuses and electronic components
- 12Familiarity with FEA CFD or multi-physics modeling software

$120 - $190k per year
