Mechanical Design Engineer, Robotics & Industrial Automation
Overview
We own the design of mechanical systems for AI driven robots from concept to fabrication. You will create 3D models and technical drawings, run simulations and tests, and prototype to validate performance. You will work with electrical and software teams, coordinate with vendors, and optimize for cost and manufacturability. This role blends hands on development with cross functional collaboration in a robotics and automation setting.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design mechanical systems and components for AI driven robots
- 2Create 3D models and fabrication drawings for production
- 3Perform mechanical simulations and performance testing to validate designs
- 4Prototype, test, and iterate designs based on lessons learned
- 5Collaborate with electrical, software, and operations teams to ensure integration
- 6Coordinate with vendors and procurement on fabrication, quality, and lead times
- 7Translate designs into fabrication and assembly documentation
- 8Travel up to 25% as needed
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 23+ years of mechanical design experience in robotics or automation
- 3Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo
- 4Experience with mechanical testing, prototyping, and material properties
- 5Knowledge of manufacturing methods and system integration
- 6Experience with simulation or FEA tools is a plus
- 7Hands on experience in lab and shop environments
- 8Strong collaboration and documentation skills
