Mechanic, Automotive Repair & Electrical Diagnostics
Overview
You will own the repair bay at a high-volume independent auto shop in the Phoenix West Valley, and you will see 40+ hours of work weekly. The shop is part of a three-location operation averaging 300+ hours of work in progress, so you will move between Youngtown, Sun City, and Glendale as needed. You will work with the latest diagnostic tools and scan tools to make precise repairs, backed by a pay plan that pays $38–$70/hour with Friday paydays, weekends off, and benefits after 90 days. What You'll Do8
- 1Perform L1 maintenance and repairs on a range of vehicles, including brakes, suspension, and engine work.
- 2Diagnose and repair electrical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and multimeters.
- 3Own the repair process from initial inspection to final test drive, ensuring accurate and reliable outcomes.
- 4Ship 15-20 repair orders per week, prioritizing quality and customer safety.
- 5Communicate with service advisors on findings and recommended repairs to keep the workflow moving.
- 6Keep your bay organized and follow shop safety protocols to minimize downtime.
- 7Mentor junior techs on complex diagnostics and repair techniques.
- 8Document all work in the shop management system for accurate billing and history.
Requirements7
- 12+ years working as an L1 or Master Technician in an independent or dealer shop.
- 2Proven ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems including wiring, sensors, and modules.
- 3Working knowledge of OBD-II diagnostics and scan tools.
- 4Own your own tools and have ASE certifications or equivalent experience.
- 5Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet for 8+ hours per shift.
- 6Clean driving record and valid driver's license for test drives.
- 7Flexibility to work across three locations in the West Valley, with Saturdays off.
