Materials Planner-Buyer
Overview
Materials Planner-Buyer at Daubert Chemical Company leads procurement of raw materials to ensure uninterrupted production. What You'll Do11
- 1Evaluate daily raw material requirements report and place orders with suppliers to maintain sufficient inventory
- 2Proactively identify supply risks and communicate issues with scheduling production and department management
- 3Maintain supplier relationships through communication pricing negotiations and sourcing new product opportunities
- 4Meet regularly with supplier representatives to evaluate samples and discuss quality concerns
- 5Seek alternate suppliers and solicit samples for R&D evaluation
- 6Responsible for all purchasing related documentation and maintaining vendor files in database
- 7Negotiate pricing and freight costs within department guidelines
- 8Work with internal departments to resolve purchasing related issues
- 9Accurately prepare receiving paperwork and forward to accounts payable promptly
- 10Attend daily morning production meetings to coordinate purchasing activities
- 11Manage miscellaneous internal purchase order processes and track order status
Requirements9
- 1Minimum two years of purchasing and materials planning experience in manufacturing environment
- 2High school diploma or GED required
- 3Some college business or supply chain coursework preferred
- 4Strong negotiation and problem solving abilities
- 5Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- 6PC proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and PDF creation capabilities
- 7Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- 8Ability to learn new ERP systems such as MS Dynamics or D365
- 9Consistent punctuality required due to operational demands
