Manufacturing Maintenance Technician III
Overview
You will analyze and repair electrical and mechanical systems at Medtronic's Energy and Component Center in Brooklyn Center, MN. You will own equipment uptime for automated production lines, using PLC and robotics systems. You will collaborate with controls, engineering, and operations teams to improve equipment performance. This role requires 3+ years of technical experience and a passion for patient impact.
What You'll Do7
- 1Install, maintain, and repair manufacturing or plant equipment within your first 90 days.
- 2Diagnose failures and replace defective components using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and hand tools.
- 3Troubleshoot PLC-based control systems to resolve production stoppages.
- 4Support robotics and automated equipment to maintain uptime and quality.
- 5Redesign optical, vacuum, electrical, or mechanical systems for existing manufacturing equipment.
- 6Estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as needed.
- 7Maintain maintenance and repair logs in CMMS for tracking.
Requirements9
- 13+ years of relevant technical experience, which may include practical experience and training.
- 2Full job knowledge of production-related systems and procedures.
- 3Experience supporting industrial controls systems in a manufacturing or automation environment.
- 4Familiarity with PLCs, including troubleshooting, programming support, or process interaction.
- 5Exposure to robotics and automated production equipment.
- 6Understanding of automation systems and how they support manufacturing efficiency, quality, and uptime.
- 7Ability to collaborate with controls, engineering, maintenance, and operations teams on equipment improvements.
- 8Experience working around complex automated machinery or highly technical manufacturing equipment.
- 9Knowledge of automation-related problem solving in a production environment.
