Manufacturing Machinist at Balanced Body
Overview
Balanced Body seeks an experienced Manufacturing Technician to operate precision equipment and fabricate prototype parts. This role involves maintaining machinery, interpreting engineering drawings, and supporting the engineering team. What You'll Do11
- 1Operate manual mill lathe surface grinder laser cutter saws shears and related hand tools
- 2Fabricate prototype parts jigs and fixtures from wood or metal
- 3Read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints and work instructions
- 4Set up inspect calibrate and maintain manufacturing equipment
- 5Take dimensional measurements using calipers micrometers gauges and other precision instruments
- 6Select appropriate machine and settings for a given task
- 7Maintain parts and supply inventory in the MRP system
- 8Assist engineering team in setting up product testing load cells wear testing and lifecycle testing
- 9Disassemble products to diagnose root causes of failures
- 10Perform preventive maintenance on production jigs and tooling
- 11Apply quality tools and processes in daily work
Requirements9
- 15+ years experience in a machine shop environment
- 2ASME Y14.5M / GD&T standards and tolerance stack-up knowledge
- 3Basic mechanical design principles understanding
- 4Measurement and test equipment proficiency with calipers micrometers force gauges and CMM
- 5Lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures knowledge
- 6Strong math mechanical and coordination skills
- 7Self-directed with excellent time management and ability to prioritize shifting tasks under deadline pressure
- 8Positive attitude and strong organizational habits
- 9Forklift certification a plus
