Machinist, CNC & Manual Machining
Overview
You will operate a variety of machines and mechanical instruments at a small Detroit manufacturer, supporting production runs and custom modifications. Our close-knit team offers hands-on training for the right individual, so prior experience is not mandatory. You will set up repeat jobs, adjust parts for efficiency, and test finished equipment for defects. If you are interested in the manufacturing field, this role provides a path to master machining with Fanuc controls and G & M codes.
What You'll Do7
- 1Set up and run CNC and manual machines for repeat production jobs
- 2Modify parts and materials to improve production output
- 3Test completed equipment to detect and remove defects
- 4Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools
- 5Calculate dimensions and tolerances using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
- 6Read blueprints to determine machining specifications
- 7Adjust machine settings to meet quality standards and reduce scrap
Requirements6
- 1Previous machining experience preferred, but we will train the right person
- 2Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings
- 3Familiarity with Fanuc controls and G & M codes is a plus
- 4Experience with machine tools and quality instruments is a plus
- 5Strong analytical and mathematical skills for precise measurements
- 6Strong attention to detail for quality control and defect detection
