What You'll Do11
- 1Support industrialization of new products in fluids avionics optics antennas and mechanical assemblies
- 2Contribute to design for manufacturability DFM design for assembly DFA and design for test DFT processes
- 3Translate engineering requirements into robust repeatable manufacturing processes
- 4Collaborate with design engineering quality assurance supply chain and production teams to accelerate building a road to space
- 5Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions process flow diagrams tool designs and inspection plans
- 6Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies such as composites precision machining additive manufacturing and advanced assembly
- 7Lead root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances and develop corrective actions enhancing reliability and performance
- 8Ensure alignment with quality and safety standards AS9100 ISO 9001 supporting safe sustainable future in space
- 9Participate in process FMEAs risk assessments and validation of new production lines and equipment
- 10Identify and complete opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction optimizing mission achievement at scale
- 11Drive improvements in manufacturing techniques ensuring Blue Origin innovation in aerospace engineering
Requirements15
- 1Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Manufacturing Electrical or Aerospace Engineering from accredited university
- 23+ years experience in manufacturing industrial or process engineering
- 31+ years creating English work instructions
- 4Ability to work second shift flexible shift movement
- 5Open to extended hours
- 6Strong understanding of GD&T engineering fundamentals
- 7Experience with Bill of materials and BOM reconciliation
- 8Prior manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace or automotive
- 9Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices
- 10Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards
- 11Experience with multi-layer insulation MLI machining fluids fabrication harness fabrication or composite fabrication
- 12Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing
- 13Experience with Lean manufacturing principles
- 14Background in aerospace or automotive manufacturing
- 15Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices
