Manufacturing Engineer, Battery & Automation
Overview
You will own equipment reliability and process stability for a BESS production line, supporting Maintenance and Production to hit uptime targets. You are the local engineering authority for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and documentation. Work daily with Controls/Automation, Quality, and Maintenance teams to drive improvements. This role stands out by giving you direct ownership of equipment commissioning and Six Sigma-driven projects in a rapidly scaling US market.
What You'll Do8
- 1Debug production equipment and processes using PLC logic and sensor data to resolve line stops.
- 2Lead root cause investigations with 5-Why and Ishikawa to eliminate repeat failures.
- 3Update work instructions and process sheets in the EAM system within 48 hours of change.
- 4Coordinate with Controls engineers to align PLC logic with mechanical adjustments.
- 5Validate new line startups by running station checks and approving process parameters.
- 6Improve fixture designs and tooling to reduce misalignment and EOL test failures.
- 7Analyze cycle time data to identify bottlenecks and implement Kaizen improvements.
- 8Support PM development by specifying torque specs and LOTO points for each station.
Requirements8
- 13-5 years as a Manufacturing Engineer in high-volume production.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- 3Hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs and 6-axis robots.
- 4Proven track record with vision systems and automated assembly.
- 5Skilled in reading electrical and mechanical schematics.
- 6Experience in battery manufacturing or automotive is a plus.
- 7Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
- 8Ability to work onsite in Dallas and support shift hours.
