What You'll Do14
- 1Set up and operate manual lathes mills grinders and drill presses
- 2Perform turning milling threading boring drilling and grinding operations
- 3Dynamic balance components as required
- 4Read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and specifications
- 5Machine and assemble parts according to required dimensions and tolerances
- 6Use precision measuring instruments micrometers calipers bore gauges and other gauges
- 7Verify dimensions and tolerances throughout machining process
- 8Make machine setup adjustments using traditional gauge-based methods
- 9Operate welding equipment including MIG TIG Stick and Oxy-Acetylene
- 10Perform metal spray processes as needed
- 11Document measurements calculations and completed work according to company standards
- 12Troubleshoot machining and mechanical issues in standard and non-standard situations
- 13Maintain safe equipment operation and shop practices
- 14Work independently while collaborating effectively with team members
Requirements13
- 1Minimum 3 years related hands-on machining or mechanical experience
- 2Previous hands-on experience working as a manual machinist
- 3Strong manual mill and/or manual lathe experience
- 4Manual machine setup and adjustment experience
- 5Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and specifications
- 6Experience using precision measuring tools including micrometers calipers bore gauges and gauges
- 7Basic math skills including fractions decimals tolerances and measurements
- 8Strong mechanical and machining problem-solving skills
- 9Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a shop environment
- 10Effective verbal written and interpersonal communication skills
- 11Ability to work onsite in Indianapolis Indiana
- 12Requirement to consistently work either 2nd shift or 3rd shift
- 13High school diploma or equivalent
