Overview
Lead a high-impact team of Applied AI Engineers enabling strategic AWS partners to build and scale generative AI solutions on OpenAI's platform. Own the technical success strategy for the AWS partner ecosystem, driving production deployments and API adoption growth. Partner with internal Product, Research, and Engineering teams to shape the platform roadmap. This role blends technical depth, customer leadership, and operational rigor, offering the chance to shape applied AI adoption at scale.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Applied AI Engineers supporting AWS partner engagements and customer deployments.
- 2Define the operating model, engagement strategy, and technical priorities for the AWS Partner AAE pod.
- 3Partner closely with AWS partner leadership and solution architects to accelerate production adoption of OpenAI technologies.
- 4Guide teams through complex generative AI and traditional ML implementations, including architecture reviews and security considerations.
- 5Serve as a senior technical escalation point for critical partner engagements, helping teams navigate ambiguity and drive successful outcomes.
- 6Collaborate with Product, Research, and Engineering to synthesize partner feedback into platform improvements and best practices.
- 7Develop scalable enablement frameworks and reference architectures that improve partner effectiveness and reduce time-to-production.
- 8Drive operational excellence across the team, including resource planning, hiring, and performance management.
Requirements8
- 18+ years in technical customer-facing roles, managing executive-level relationships with enterprise organizations and strategic partners.
- 23+ years leading high-performing technical teams in applied AI engineering, solutions engineering, or post-sales environments.
- 3Hands-on experience building and deploying generative AI and traditional ML systems in production, including LLM architectures and evaluation methodologies.
- 4Strong knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and modern cloud-native architectures, including networking, security, and observability.
- 5Experience working with cloud ecosystem partners, systems integrators, or technical alliance organizations.
- 6Technical depth in software engineering using Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- 7Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on technical engagement and operational execution.
- 8Effective communicator who translates complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes for executives, partners, and developers.
