Manager Behavioral Health Programs, Mental Health & Substance Abuse

You will manage daily operations for a behavioral health team serving a defined population, with direct responsibility for staff supervision, program compliance, and budget oversight. What You'll Do10
- 1Plan, assign, and monitor daily work of a behavioral health team, ensuring case assignments align with staff skills and program needs.
- 2Coach and mentor team members, document performance discussions, and provide regular feedback to improve clinical outcomes.
- 3Interpret and apply organizational policies, recommending changes to improve service delivery and compliance.
- 4Track staff productivity and billing data in coordination with the Information and Technology department.
- 5Conduct staff meetings and case conferences, training teams on treatment best practices and psychosocial rehabilitation techniques.
- 6Ensure all documentation meets the agency's quality assurance plan and funding guidelines, reporting program progress at required intervals.
- 7Review program files and medical records for accuracy, implementing corrective actions for completeness.
- 8Develop treatment manuals and curricula, and conduct group therapy sessions as needed.
- 9Create and manage a program budget in conjunction with the Fiscal department, monitoring expenditures and adjusting as needed.
- 10Participate in program audits, address findings, and ensure compliance with CARF standards and funding source requirements.
Requirements9
- 1Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field; Doctoral degree preferred.
- 25+ years experience in a mental health setting as a Fully Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Professional Counselor.
- 32+ years supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
- 4Fully Licensed as a Master Social Worker or Ph.D., or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) at date of hire.
- 5CAFAS certification if responsible for child therapy.
- 6MCBAP Certified Addiction Counselor or Certified Advanced Addiction and Drug Counselor, and Certified Clinical Supervisor – Michigan (CCS-M) may be required based on assigned functional area, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 7Experience with grant writing preferred.
- 8Experience in a substance abuse setting may be required based on assigned functional area.
- 9Ability to interpret, speak, and write in Arabic, Spanish, or other native language of the predominant service population preferred.
