Maintenance Technician, Building & Facilities
Overview
You will own building maintenance, repairs, and inspections across St. Barnabas Health System's campus, supporting a trusted healthcare organization with over 100 years of service. You will troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, and carpentry issues, and participate in preventative maintenance programs. The facilities team is dedicated to excellence and service, and you will collaborate with them to ensure a safe environment. This role stands out by offering flexible full-time or part-time schedules, ideal for retired tradespeople, and includes HVAC training if needed.
What You'll Do7
- 1Perform routine building maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure safety and functionality.
- 2Troubleshoot issues involving electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building systems.
- 3Support preventative maintenance programs to maintain efficiency and safety standards.
- 4Complete work orders professionally and on time, documenting actions taken.
- 5Collaborate with the facilities team on projects and daily operations to meet campus needs.
- 6Respond to on-call requests approximately seven times per year (full-time only).
- 7Assist with HVAC system checks and learn HVAC maintenance through provided training.

- 1Experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a skilled trade.
- 2Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- 3Positive, customer-service mindset for interacting with residents and staff.
- 4Ability to lift, carry, and perform physical tasks as needed.
- 5Valid driver's license.
