Lead skilled journey level work in construction maintenance repair of electrical equipment supporting Manufacturing to meet production schedules ensuring compliance with MIOSHA and Magna safety regulations. Drive continuous improvement and MAFACT activities for MPT Sterling Heights.
What You'll Do20
- 1Industrial troubleshooting to assemble install test and maintain electrical/electronic wiring equipment apparatus fixtures
- 2Installation and maintenance of building electrical power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines conveyors programmable controllers
- 3Installation and maintenance of building and machine pneumatics
- 4Installation of electrical and mechanical components systems for presses custom equipment machinery and related equipment
- 5Repair troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC’s diagnosing malfunctioning equipment including transformers motors and lighting fixtures correcting issues replacing damaged wires and cables
- 6Responsible for safety cleanliness and orderliness of Maintenance Department maintaining 5S plant wide
- 7Replacement repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical components systems
- 8Improve trouble shooting information based on lessons learned to allow operators and maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime
- 9Installation of software necessary for presses and related equipment training electrical apprentice
- 10Support implementation of operator autonomous maintenance activities
- 11Flexibility to adjust breaks and lunch times to support production floor
- 12Programming logical controllers and peripheral devices such as Allen Bradley and all other programmable controllers used to control automated machinery
- 13Troubleshoot electrical and logic circuits using PLC software and electrical metering equipment
- 14Complete all required paperwork and computer tasks adhering to departmental KMI goals on time
- 15Maintain clean safe work area supporting 5S Health & Safety and Environmental initiatives
- 16Ensure adherence to company policies including IATF16949 ISO14001 and Employee Handbook
- 17Follow MIOSHA and MPTSH safety regulations including wearing required PPE report unsafe conditions
- 18Active participation in MAFACT implementation improving operational effectiveness OEE MTTR and MTBF
- 19Participate in continuous improvement activities proactively submit cost saving improvements and suggestions
- 20Use Employee suggestion program Kaizen and A3 methods treat team members with dignity respect according to Magna Employee Charter and Common Values
Requirements16
- 1Mechatronics technician degree
- 2Mechanical troubleshooting skills ability to diagnose malfunctioning systems gearbox rebuild pumps and motors repairs
- 3Knowledge of CNC’s Stamping Presses and related machinery
- 4Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet
- 5Knowledge of building codes
- 6Certificates licenses registrations ability to obtain forklift and aerial permits previous experience
- 7Confined Space certification valid driver’s license
- 8Language skills reading safety rules operating and maintenance instructions proficiency in English
- 9Mathematical skills calculating Ohms Law volts watts power consumption fuse ratings applying basic algebra and geometry
- 10Computer skills knowledge of Manufacturing software such as RS Logix and Microsoft Office
- 11Reasoning skills dealing with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations
- 12Communication skills strong oral and written communication active listening technical details clear communication across organization
- 13Problem Solving skills facilitating structured problem solving participating cross functional teams
