LVN Licensed Vocational Nurse - Texas Children's Hospital
Overview
You will assess, treat, and document care for patients as an LVN at Texas Children's Hospital in Humble, Atascocita. What You'll Do8
- 1Collect and document vital signs, BMI, height/weight, and reason for visit with 100% accuracy.
- 2Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during treatments and testing.
- 3Administer medications and immunizations as directed, documenting in the electronic health record.
- 4Document all interventions per protocol, ensuring complete patient records.
- 5Provide patient and family education as instructed by provider or protocol.
- 6Assess patient eligibility for referrals by verifying coverage with payer before initiating referrals.
- 7Collect specimens and perform laboratory tests, verifying provider orders and patient identity.
- 8Demonstrate AIDET and Creating SMILES philosophies with patients, families, and coworkers.
Requirements4
- 1HS Diploma or GED
- 2Diploma or Certificate from a school of vocational nursing, or documentation from the Texas Board of Nursing verifying exception
- 3LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas
- 4BLS - Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
