Lube Technician Job at Honda of Oakland | Automotive
Overview
You will own the oil change and basic maintenance workflow at a high-volume dealership, handling 15-20 cars daily. You will work alongside a team of certified technicians using diagnostic tools and special service equipment. This role offers a clear path to full technician status, with paid training and ASE certification sponsorship.
What You'll Do9
- 1Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount, replace oil and air filters
- 2Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replace or replenish as necessary, check tire pressure and add air
- 3Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts for scheduled services
- 4Keep shop area neat and clean, maintain accountability for all dealership-owned tools and manuals
- 5Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner, including lift and oil drain equipment
- 6Test-drive vehicles and test components using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- 7Diagnose and repair automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and AC
- 8Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of additional services needed and provide time estimates
- 9Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- 3Entry-level qualifications including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair preferred
- 4Strong physical dexterity for working with tools
- 5Basic computer skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- 6Collaborates well with others in a team setting
- 7Strong communication skills and excellent customer service skills
- 8Punctual and reliable, with a positive and friendly attitude
- 9Willingness to learn new technology, repair and service procedures
