LPN Licensed Practical Nurse, Gastroenterology Clinic
Overview
You will own direct patient care in a high-volume GI/HPB clinic, preparing patients, assisting with procedures, and administering medications under provider orders. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of LPNs, registered nurses, and physicians at Atrium Health, a leading integrated health system. Full-time, weekday schedule with no weekends and flexible shift options. What You'll Do9
- 1Room patients by obtaining vital signs and documenting chief complaints, allergies, and medications in the electronic medical record.
- 2Administer medications, including immunizations, antibiotics, and insulin, following provider orders.
- 3Assist with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, and colposcopy using aseptic technique.
- 4Initiate and maintain IV therapy with selected fluids and pre-mixed medications.
- 5Perform advanced clinical tasks including suture removal, catheterization, EKG, spirometry, and Holter monitor application.
- 6Educate patients on self-care, treatment plans, and follow-up procedures.
- 7Coordinate referrals, prescription refills, and diagnostic tests with the care team.
- 8Maintain exam rooms, lab areas, and equipment, including cleaning and sterilization.
- 9Participate in quality improvement and patient-centered care initiatives.
Requirements8
- 1LPN license issued by the state of practice.
- 2BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA obtained within 45 days of hire.
- 3Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- 4No prior experience required; new graduates welcome.
- 5Proficient in electronic medical records and Windows-based systems.
- 6Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and reaching.
- 7Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- 8Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
