Litigation Resource Team Manager, Environmental Law
Overview
The Litigation Resource Team Manager leads a centralized team of litigation assistants and paralegals providing surge and dedicated support across Earthjustice's regional and program offices. Reporting to the Sr. Program Manager of the Litigation Practice team, this role establishes triage protocols, assigns work, and ensures consistent quality. The manager also develops training and coordinates high-intensity litigation phases such as trials and large document reviews, while fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
What You'll Do10
- 1Establish a central intake point for litigation support requests, assigning work to the Resource Team based on priority and capacity.
- 2Develop criteria and protocols for prioritizing work, escalating requests, and resolving competing demands across offices.
- 3Partner with the Sr. Program Manager to measure impact and improve support of the Resource Team.
- 4Recruit and maintain a pool of contract paralegals in partnership with HR for long-term needs.
- 5Design and deliver organization-wide training for litigation assistants and paralegals, building a knowledge base of filing guides and templates.
- 6Provide surge support: edit, cite-check, proofread, format, file, and serve legal documents, and draft pleadings and case documents.
- 7Support discovery and administrative record review, including document review, and coordinate logistics for trials and hearings.
- 8Supervise team hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management, ensuring alignment with Earthjustice's values.
- 9Gather and share feedback from embedded offices to improve team performance and collaboration.
- 10Oversee administrative, budgeting, and personnel management for direct reports, upholding organizational policies.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of paralegal experience in state, federal, and appellate courts, including rules and procedures in federal courts and administrative agencies.
- 2Experience supervising a team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- 3Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other litigation support software.
- 4Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training for adult learners.
- 5Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- 6Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
