Litigation Associate, Mass Tort & Products Liability
Overview
You will own casework across written discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial prep for products liability and mass tort matters at a Minneapolis litigation boutique. You join a tight-knit team of trial lawyers who hand you real responsibility from day one. You will argue motions in state and federal court, take depositions of fact witnesses and corporate designees, and shape case strategy. This role stands apart because you build deep subject matter strength in high-stakes litigation while working directly with partners and senior associates.
What You'll Do6
- 1Own written discovery from drafting interrogatories and document requests to response analysis, including coordinating electronic evidence collection in eDiscovery workflows.
- 2Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses, party representatives, and corporate designees, using testimony to advance case strategy in products liability and mass tort matters.
- 3Prepare, file, and argue procedural motions in state and federal court, and author substantive briefs for case-dispositive issues.
- 4Conduct legal research in Westlaw and produce pleadings, memoranda, and client communications that need little editing.
- 5Drive case strategy by tracking deadlines, organizing case progress, and moving matters toward mediation, arbitration, or trial.
- 6Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess facts, manage risk, and build persuasive legal positions across each case lifecycle.
Requirements6
- 12+ years handling civil, commercial, or comparable litigation matters with hands-on discovery and motion practice.
- 2Active law license in Minnesota or ability to obtain admission without delay.
- 3Strong knowledge of state civil procedure, general rules of practice, and federal court procedures.
- 4Proven drafting skill for motions, briefs, pleadings, and other litigation documents.
- 5Experience managing written discovery and document review processes, including eDiscovery tools.
- 6Confident oral advocacy with prior appearances before judges in state or federal court.
