Line Cook, French Bakery & Café
Overview
You will own the line at maman, preparing and cooking menu items to spec in a high-volume French bakery and café. You will join a collaborative BOH and FOH team across multiple North American locations, serving signature baked goods and seasonal dishes. What You'll Do10
- 1Cook menu items to maman's recipes and portioning standards during service.
- 2Prep daily ingredients, including chopping, measuring, and assembling components.
- 3Operate kitchen equipment like ovens, grills, mixers, and slicers safely and efficiently.
- 4Restock stations throughout service to maintain production flow.
- 5Keep the workstation clean and organized, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- 6Label, date, and store food items to preserve freshness and reduce waste.
- 7Receive and store deliveries, coordinating with the kitchen team.
- 8Communicate quality issues to the Kitchen Leader immediately.
- 9Coordinate with the kitchen team for timely food production during peak periods.
- 10Support the FOH team when needed, maintaining a positive attitude.
Requirements9
- 11+ years of line cook or prep cook experience, preferably in a café, bakery, or casual dining setting.
- 2Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen safety protocols.
- 3Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and operational procedures.
- 4Strong time management and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- 5Sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- 6Food Handler's Certification or ServSafe Certification preferred.
- 7Familiarity with pastry preparation or basic baking techniques preferred.
- 8Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- 9Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
