Line Cook, Family Dining (Perkins)
Overview
You own the grill and prep station at a busy Perkins, delivering comfort food to 3-5 tables per hour. You work with a team of 5-10 cooks and servers to keep ticket times under 10 minutes. This role offers flexible shifts and a clear path to Lead Cook within 6 months.
What You'll Do6
- 1Cook menu items to recipe and presentation standards, hitting Perkins quality specs.
- 2Keep your station clean and organized, following ServSafe food safety rules.
- 3Coordinate with servers and expediters to plate orders accurately and on time.
- 4Prep ingredients for the next shift, stocking walk-in and reach-in coolers.
- 5Assist with dishwashing and line breakdown during slow periods.
- 6Take initiative to restock and clean without being asked, supporting the whole kitchen.
Requirements7
- 1No prior experience required; 1+ year line cook experience a plus.
- 2Lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for 8+ hours on hard floors.
- 3Work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a busy kitchen.
- 4Follow HACCP food safety and sanitation procedures.
- 5Use POS system to enter orders and mark items as delivered.
- 6Communicate clearly with team members under pressure.
- 7Wear non-slip shoes and proper kitchen uniform per policy.
